Utah Computers & Electronics Recycle
Rios Computer Designs is happy to take care of the recycling of your unwanted computers, monitors, and components. We want to do our part for the environment and would like to encourage others to do so as well.
As a friendly reminder, it is not legal to dispose of unwanted computers in an improper manner, and we wish to make it convenient and safe for you. We encourage the proper recycling of all electronics, and under some circumstances, RCD will give an In-Store Credit on certain computer systems, monitors, and hardware.
Disposing of computers, monitors, hard drives, printers, copiers, smartphones, batteries, etc., in garbage cans and dumpsters can generate considerable fines for violators. Plus, these and other electronic devices and components contain toxic heavy metals such as lead, mercury, chromium, etc., as well as many carcinogenic plastics such as PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride), and PBDE (Polybrominated Diphenyl ethers).
These hazardous materials can work their way into the earth and water systems and are harmful to the environment and to humans. If improperly incinerated, these toxins pollute the atmosphere and the air we breathe. These are all ways that these dangerous components can end up in the food chain. These metals and plastics can have immediate adverse health effects, and have been known to be linked to certain cancers, and cause harm to the reproductive systems of humans and animals.
In today’s world, we feel that it is important that we all do what we can to leave as little of a negative impact on the environment. And if Rios Computer Designs can make it convenient for you to do so, we wish to be a part of the movement to be an eco-friendly place of business.
Many of the parts and components of computers and electronics can be recycled and re-used. We would like to invite you to join us to help keep our futures safe, beautiful, and green.
